Anyone who’s filled their gas tank or bought a gallon of milk at the grocery store knows that inflation has been taking a major bite out of budgets. In this year’s Meetings Today Trends Survey, meeting and event planners list increasing costs as their biggest challenge in the coming year, with lower budgets further compounding the problem and low staffing levels at facilities adding that extra layer of frustration.
It’s not all bad news, though, as the supply chain finally seems to be getting back to normal and, for the most part, planners seem pretty content with their choice of profession. And COVID-19 protocols? For better or worse, they’re not really a thing anymore.
Let’s hope that 2024 continues to demonstrate the incredible resilience of the meetings and events industry
and our recent momentum carries forward.
