Whether it’s an executive meeting, teambuilding event, reception or dinner, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin—with more than 100,000 square feet of outdoor space—has developed ways to move traditionally indoor functions into the great outdoors.

“We’re in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas of our country with some of the most amazing weather,” said Jim Curtis, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin director of sales and marketing. “There are so many benefits to hosting functions outside, and our team has the expertise and knowledge to execute them perfectly.”

Meeting professionals love to utilize the resort’s pool decks for al fresco events in a three-acre area that includes six refreshing pools. The ever-stylish Cabana Bar & Grill beckons, and the lush Grotto pool area sits beneath a tumbling waterfall. The area features several bridges at various points, and on the weekends, a resident DJ often sets up equipment.

A private white sandy beach and lake-side terraces promise groups astonishing views of the passing Disney boats and the resort’s classic Swan paddle boats.

The renowned Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is an annual event, and this popular festival can be recreated for private group events. Using the resort’s causeway (between the Swan and the Dolphin), events can be customized by the resort’s culinary team to fit a wide range of group sizes and preferences.

Other open-air group events the hotel offers include a Hawaiian Pig Roast, a Louisiana-inspired seafood boil and Food Truck festival.

How to choose?

Remember: Every outdoor meeting needs a good back-up plan, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin offers more than 333,000 square feet of indoor function space so no event is rained out, and meeting professionals won’t need to anxiously watch the sky prior to their big event.

The three-hotel complex means planners can keep their groups together, literally and physically. The Swan and Dolphin and Swan Reserve offer a whopping total of 2,619 guest rooms and suites and more than 349,000 square feet of meeting space that includes 99 meeting rooms and two executive boardrooms. But the resort offers more! Groups will find six ballroom options, 110,500 square feet of contiguous convention/exhibit space, three business centers and complimentary transportation throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. A plethora of 23 restaurants and lounges are scattered throughout these upscale properties including Shula’s Steak House and the newest addition, Rosa Mexicano, serving freshly made guacamole tableside with their own signature cocktail: a frozen pomegranate margarita.

The 14-story Walt Disney World Swan Reserve features 349 guest rooms, 149 of which are executive meeting suites. Its top-floor event space, The Vue, presents awe-inspired views of Walt Disney World with multiple fireworks shows visible from area theme parks.
