Where history and culture collide. Where work and play form an unforgettable combination for meetings and conventions. Where does all this happen? Savannah, Georgia.

It starts with getting to the standout southeast destination. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, named top in the country in 2023 by Condé Nast Traveler readers, offers nonstop flights to more than 32 destinations on major airlines, including Delta, American, JetBlue, Southwest and beyond. The airport is only 15 minutes from the Historic Landmark District, making it easy for attendees to reach the city center. Once there, they can navigate the cobblestone streets, moss-draped oaks and waterway. The Savannah Belles Water Ferries, running every 20 minutes, offer a convenient way to get to meetings at the Savannah Convention Center. Additionally, the Express Shuttle Bus Fleet provides service every 15 minutes between the Savannah Convention Center and hotels in the Historic Landmark District.

This city steeped in history is preparing to start a new chapter with the expansion of the Savannah Convention Center. The riverfront facility is doubling in size and adding new features for planners and attendees. The LEED gold-certified convention center is open and currently features a 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 25,000-square-foot ballroom and a 367-seat auditorium, on top of a noteworthy amount of sustainability initiatives. Once the expansion is complete later this year, the 660,000-square-foot Convention Center will have 200,000 square feet of exhibit space, an additional 40,000-square-foot ballroom, 32 total breakout meeting rooms, a partially covered rooftop patio, a 58-foot-wide hanger door and a facility entrance with an all-glass facade.

As the Convention Center evolves, our destination's timeless charm remains the heart and soul of the city. Savannah is a charming and mysterious city, full of beauty, hospitality, creativity and allure. Naturally, its Southern prowess extends to its accommodations, which include more than 14,000 guest rooms. Each has a unique setting that’ll make your attendees feel like they’re a world away while still enjoying the comforts of home—and then some. The benefits of planning a citywide in Savannah include allowing attendees to personalize their experience by choosing which hotel fits their budget and style. The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa is adjacent to the Savannah Convention Center and offers 403 renovated guest rooms and 35,000 square feet of onsite event space. Just a three-minute ferry ride, a complimentary service for groups, across the Savannah River sits an abundance of accommodations, including the 391-room Marriott Savannah Riverfront and its over 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor venue space, 351-room Hyatt Regency with 33,000 square feet of meeting space, The DeSoto with 246 fully renovated rooms and 20,000 square feet of flexible event space and 252-room Hotel Indigo, which offers nearly 6,000 square feet of space for groups.

For corporate meetings, Savannah’s luxurious hotels include the modern 193-room Thompson Savannah that offers 10,000 square feet of customizable function space, connectivity to the Savannah Riverwalk, walkability to one of the ferry stops and breathtaking panoramic city and river views from the rooftop. The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District features customized offerings with three unique buildings boasting 419 eclectic guest rooms, more than 18,000 square feet of event space and a vibrant entertainment area filled with shopping, music and 14 different dining spots. Or look to the new Hotel Bardo, a historic mansion at the heart of Forsyth Park turned into a 149-room urban resort with over 10,000 square feet of venue space. The property combines retro style, Mediterranean pizzazz and southern hospitality.

Savannah’s hospitality gene goes beyond accommodations; it’s ingrained in the community, which has been named one of the friendliest Southern cities by Southern Living Magazine. During their downtime post-meeting, your attendees will be welcomed by the local residents at our shops, boutiques, museums and award-winning restaurants serving coastal favorites like shrimp and grits and savory Southern comfort food like crispy fried chicken to fine dining.

Savannah has a destination appeal that can’t be found anywhere else, so you can give your meeting attendees an experience like no other. They’ll arrive for the meeting—and then return for the charm. Start planning your next event in Savannah today.
