Travel Portland named Jon Hixon its new senior vice president of business strategy. In his new role, Hixon will work with Travel Portland’s convention sales and services team to bring diverse and economically impactful convention customers to the Portland community, with a goal to exceed customers’ service expectations and gain repeat business for the region.
Hixon brings three decades of experience to the role, having most recently served as Visit Indy’s managing director of sales.
Hixon is a Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Destinations International (DI) and PCMA. He also currently chairs ASAE’s Meetings & Expositions Advisory Council while also serving on DI’s Convention Sales & Services Committee.
