The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin broke ground on the largest renovation and expansion in the property’s history, adding an additional 120,000 square feet of event space to its current convention floor plan. The expansion will bring the triplex resort's total meeting space to 469,000 square feet between its three buildings, the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve, making it one of the largest convention properties on the East Coast.
The project represents a $275 million investment over the next several years and will include upgrades to existing meeting spaces, Swan guest rooms and technology enhancements across the property. Upgrades have already been made to the existing spaces in Walt Disney World Dolphin, with upgrades on Walt Disney World Swan set to be completed by summer 2025.
The project is the first major expansion of the resort's meeting spaces since 2003, featuring a new two-story annex connecting to the hotel’s existing convention space that will offer 41,000 square feet of multi-purpose space and 24,000 square feet of additional prefunction space on the first floor. The second floor will include a ballroom with 41,000 square feet of divisible event space and 14,000 square feet of prefunction space.
“We look forward to delivering such a major transformation for our customers,” said Sean Verney, area general manager. “These enhancements will be a great addition to our iconic and award-winning operation. It positions our property to remain at the forefront of meeting and convention venues globally.”
