Topic: Self-Care in our fast-paced world
Presented by Rachel Vague, Spa Director, Sonoran Spa - Westward Look Resort
The meetings and events world is always stressful. If fact, studies show the profession of meeting or event planner is one of the top 10 most-stressful jobs there is. And the last year-and-a-half certainly hasn’t made it easier! But there are ways to ease the stress.
Ask yourself these questions:
- What does self-care mean to you?
- How do you take care of ‘self’ in our fast-paced world?
Rachel Vague, spa director for the Sonoran Spa at the Westward Look Resort, will help you answer those questions and provide examples of self-care and the benefits of practicing it, even when you have little to no time. You’d be surprised at the minimum amount of effort needed to help you take care of ‘self’ while navigating this world we live in.
Rachel is also a co owner of Kinetic Kombat and is bringing her partner Tyson to discus safety tips and self defense while traveling. Tyson will then lead participants in a 15-20 minute guided breath work meditation to help you calm the mind, ground yourself, and release stress through your breath.
Topic: Expert Panel Discussion - Ripped From the Headlines!
Presented by Roger Rickard, Voices in Advocacy
During this highly interactive program you will examine, deliberate and discuss meetings industry issues such as transportation, technology, safety and security, cyber-security, taxes, infrastructure, diversity/inclusion and education.

Learner outcomes:
- Increase your awareness of the diverse issues in the industry and how they can - affect your meetings, incentives and events.
- Make one aware of the key issues and successful strategies that enable you to protect and defend your organization, your industry and your profession.
- You will leave with the tools needed to communicate the issues that face meetings and the meetings industry to key stakeholders.
