San Diego Bolsters Brainpower for Meetings

Sun, fun and a convention district seemingly made for meetings make San Diego a popular destination for business events, but the San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) believes brainpower—such as its emerging biotech industry—needs to be added to that list.

While San Diego is known for its sunshine and laid-back vibes, America's Finest City has been a hotbed of innovation, education and cultural exploration for decades.

The city ranks at the top in the U.S. in many forward-thinking categories, including groundbreaking research institutions, world-class universities, a thriving life-sciences sector and a forthcoming Research and Development District. 

The new campaign – Meet America's Brightest City – re-introduces professional meeting planners to the Brains of San Diego while also reminding them of San Diego's Beauty.

Meetings Today's Tyler Davidson sat down with the SDTA’s Kavin Schieferdecker to explore this SoCal standout’s new promotional message for the meetings and events industry.
