Meet Our Guest

Photo of Reem Ismail standing in a checkered dress in Seattle.Reem’s journey in healthcare began in 2013 when she earned her associate’s degree in nursing and stepped into the fast-paced world of the medical intensive care unit. Eager to grow in her career, she went on to complete her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2015 and joined Henry Ford Hospital’s cardiovascular intensive care unit.

There, she cared for patients undergoing heart and lung transplants and those with advanced heart failure who required continuous hemodynamic monitoring or mechanical support, including VV and VA ECMO.

With a passion for learning and a deep commitment to patient care, Reem pursued her master of science in nursing at the University of Michigan, becoming a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner in 2017. She then joined the Pulmonary Hypertension program at Henry Ford Hospital, a nationally recognized pulmonary hypertension comprehensive care center.

In this role, she cared for patients with pulmonary hypertension in both outpatient and inpatient settings and played a key role in the hospital’s Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), leading the creation of a Post-PE clinic.

Beyond her clinical work, Reem discovered how much she loved teaching—whether she was working with patients, nurses, residents or fellows, she found joy in sharing knowledge and helping others grow.

Now, as a clinical practice liaison, Reem brings that same passion for education and relationship-building to support advanced practice providers (APPs). She works alongside APPs, providing guidance, education and resources while they are managing a complex patient population.

With her expertise in pulmonary vascular disease, pumps and device management, she’s dedicated to making sure providers have the tools and support they need to deliver the best possible care.

Above all, Reem is committed to fostering strong connections, sharing knowledge and making a meaningful impact.
