Carrying the theme “impact” for the next two years, IMEX Group’s major annual tradeshows in Las Vegas and Frankfurt are striving to communicate the true influence of meetings and events in myriad ways and on a deeper level.

The Culinary and Bartenders Union voted to authorize a strike against 22 hotels and resorts in the Las Vegas area, including the site of this year’s IMEX America convention, Mandalay Bay. The union has also scheduled picket lines outside 8 properties on the Las Vegas Strip, signaling how labor disputes might clash with this year's IMEX convention.

Led by the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) the Net-Zero Carbon Initiative is growing fast, and gearing up to provide the events industry with measurement methodologies to calculate carbon emissions of events.

IMEX America celebrated its 12th year in style, posting an all-time record for attendance for any of its shows, with partner MPI also setting records for its Smart Monday educational program and revenue from its Rendezvous event. The October 17-19 exhibition portion of the program posted a 9% increase over 2022 numbers, with 360 in total, and the amount of exhibitor space increased 20%.
