Smoking Ban Looms at Atlantic City Casinos

Atlantic City’s city council gave unanimous preliminary approval Dec. 29 for a ban on casino-floor smoking, according to press reports.

The ban, subject to a final vote Jan. 24, would prohibit smoking in Atlantic City’s gaming establishments.

If approved, the law would go into effect as early as April 15, exactly one year after the state of New Jersey banned smoking in all indoor establishments, with the exception of casino floors.
