Plans are in the works for the construction of a 275-room Mandarin Oriental hotel as part of L.A.’s upcoming Grand Avenue development.
The hotel will be situated on the lower 20 floors of a 48-story tower, with the upper floors containing up to 2,600 residential units.
The Grand Avenue development is a project consisting of 450,000 square feet of retail space, a 25,000-square-foot event facility, 50,000-square-foot food market, a book store, and a 35,000-square-foot health club.
The first phase of the project, including the hotel, is expected to break ground later this year, with summer 2010 targeted for the opening date.
