The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, located here, is entertaining the possibility of expanding its property to include more meeting space and hotel rooms.
The $400 million project may include an additional 400,000 square feet of convention space and an adjacent 400-room hotel.
The project has yet to be finalized, but if approved, the expansion may open as early as 2010.
The already-massive resort currently houses 2,881 guest rooms and 600,000 square feet of meeting space, and with the expansion the property would offer 3,281 guest rooms and 1 million square feet of function space.
