Thayer Lodging Group purchased three Marriott-branded hotels near the Miami International Airport for $57.5 million and plans to invest $65 million into refurbishing the properties. The project is slated to finish in early 2009.
The Miami Airport Marriott, a 366-room hotel with 12,500 square feet of meeting space, will receive a lobby renovation.
The 174-room Courtyard Miami Airport South will be renovated and expanded to include a new 10-story tower, bringing the hotel’s room count up to 300.
In addition, a new 160-suite Residence Inn by Marriott will be constructed on the site of the former Fairfield Inn.
