Discussions are underway for a major expansion to the Thunder Valley Casino, located here.
The United Auburn Indian Community of the Auburn Rancheria (UAIC), owners of the casino, released plans June 15 regarding a project that would add a 23-floor hotel with about 650 rooms as well as 30,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa, a tribal cultural exhibit area, and a 175,000-square-foot performing arts center.
Plans have not been finalized and the UAIC expects to present its Draft Tribal Environmental Impact Report in a public meeting July 11.
The Thunder Valley Casino currently measures 200,000 square feet and features 2,700 slot machines, 98 table games and three full-service bars.
