Ric Luber was appointed president and CEO of the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism here, effective July 2.
In his new position, Luber takes the helm of the Columbia Metropolitan CVB, Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, Columbia Regional Sports Council, and Columbia Regional Visitors Center.
Luber brings many years of industry experience to his new position and has previously worked as the president and CEO of the Austin [Texas] CVB and the Greater Rochester [N.Y.] Visitors Association.
He replaces Steve Camp, who retired after serving as president and CEO of the authority since March 2002.
