Virgin America, a new San Francisco-based airline, plans to begin service Aug. 8 with two daily flights between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and five daily flights from SFO to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The low-cost carrier also plans to expand its initial service to three daily roundtrips starting Aug. 19 and to four flights per day Sept. 9.
In addition, Virgin America plans to initiate the following flights:
Aug. 29: Two daily roundtrips from JFK to LAX, with a third daily flight beginning Sept 16.
Sept. 26: Two daily flights from SFO to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
October 10: Three daily roundtrips between SFO and Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport.
October 14: Two daily roundtrips between LAX and IAD.
