Ground was broken Nov. 1 on the new Panama City–Bay County International Airport.
The new facility is set to replace the area’s existing airport when it opens in late 2009.
The new airport will be built in the northwestern portion of Bay County and will also include a 40,000-acre environmental preservation area.
