Gaylord Entertainment Company plans to purchase San Antonio’s Westin La Cantera Resort and invest $250 million into expanding the property.
The acquisition, valued at $252.2 million, is expected to close early next year.
Gaylord has purchased 90 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the resort and plans to initiate a three-year expansion that will bring the property’s room count up from 508 to 1,000 units and increase its meeting space from 39,000 square feet to 160,000 square feet.
The project is slated for completion in 2011.
