ATA Airlines Shuts Down

ATA Airlines filed for bankruptcy April 2 and discontinued operations.

All flights have been cancelled. Customers who purchased tickets online are being advised to check with their credit card company or travel agent for refunds. Founded in 1973, the carrier served up to 10,000 passengers per day on flights to and from Chicago; Dallas; Oakland, Calif.; Guadalajara and Cancun, Mexico; Los Angeles; Hawaii; Phoenix; and Las Vegas.

The shutdown affects all of the airline’s 2,230 employees.
