Dallas Council Okays H.Q. Hotel Land Purchase

The Dallas City Council voted 11-2 in favor of purchasing downtown land for a publicly owned convention center hotel.

“The Dallas City Council’s vote today was a huge step forward in making a convention center hotel a reality,” said Phillip Jones, president and CEO of the Dallas CVB. “We are absolutely thrilled with the actions of our Dallas City Council. This action speaks to their commitment to the convention and meetings industry and their desire to see Dallas once more emerge as a major destination for conventions and meetings of every size.”

The site, on Lamar and Young streets, is located directly north of the Dallas Convention Center.
