Lawmakers Allocate $3.5 Million for New Orleans CVB

The Louisiana legislature voted to grant the New Orleans CVB $3.5 million, a sum far less than the $23 million requested by the bureau, to meet ongoing expenses resulting from Hurricane Katrina.

Stephen Perry, president and CEO of the New Orleans CVB, said tourism leaders have “a lot to do to convince state government to invest more” in the industry.

The CVB is also receiving $750,000 from the state to host the upcoming PCMA convention in January.
