Fairmont Hotels & Resorts launched its Meaningful Meetings program, which enables groups to donate to community or international organizations when booking a meeting during 2008 or 2009.
The program, which is valid for meetings taking place until Dec. 10, 2010, is available for meetings requiring a minimum of 50 room nights, with 10 percent of the room revenue either used as a credit toward a meeting of equal or greater size or as a charitable donation. Planners can designate the charity of their choice.
“Meeting planners and our group guests have responded enthusiastically to our initiatives to ‘green’ our meeting offerings through our Eco-Meet program,” said Jeff Doane, Fairmont’s vice president of hotel sales. “We wanted to take our shared commitment to social responsibility one step further and create a more personalized opportunity for guests to make a meaningful contribution.”
