Wyndham Hotels and Resorts announced it is renovating the 251-room Chateau Bourbon-A Wyndham Historic Hotel here. The property, formerly the Chateau Sonesta, is located in the French Quarter.
The hotel was a department store for 140 years before it was converted into a hotel by HRI Properties in 1995.
Upgrades to the property will include the addition of new bedding and flat screen televisions in guest rooms; new carpeting in guest rooms and public areas; and significant enhancements to bathrooms, guest room furniture and fixtures.
The hotel features 10,000 square feet of function space for groups of up to 320. The Chateau Bourbon is the second historic property in the Big Easy to join the Wyndham portfolio. The company also operates The Whitney-A Wyndham Historic Hotel in New Orleans.
