The planned Embassy Suites hotel with an adjacent conference center planned here will be expanding from 315 hotel rooms to 330, The Olathe News reported.
John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts is building the complex, which will be the developer’s fourth project in the Kansas City metro area.
The conference center will have 80,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 3,000-square-foot ballroom, an additional ballroom and 10 smaller meeting spaces. The facility will have an atrium-style interior, a sports bar, a gift shop and a fitness center, among many other features.
Construction is scheduled to begin in April or May. The hotel is expected to open in late 2010 or early 2011.
