Developers of CityCenter, the massive 65-acre complex being built on the Las Vegas Strip, announced that The Harmon Hotel and Spa opening will be postponed by one year and scrapped plans to build the 200-unit Harmon residential component.
“In taking these steps related to The Harmon we can remain focused on maximizing the operating performance of Aria, Mandarin and Vdara to their desired levels,” said Robert Baldwin, president and CEO of CityCenter.
The Aria, Mandarin and Vdara are the other hotels to be built at CityCenter. Those hotels and all other components of CityCenter are on schedule to open in December. The 400-room Harmon Hotel and Spa is now scheduled to open in 2010.
