Casino Resort Planned in Phoenix Suburb

The Tohono O'odham Nation plans to build the state’s largest casino-resort on unincorporated land close to the University of Phoenix Stadium in this Phoenix suburb, The Arizona Daily Star reported. The 1.2 million-square-foot complex is expected to be built by 2012. It would feature 600 rooms overlooking a three-acre enclosed atrium, including 120 luxury suites, eight restaurants and dozens of shops. The resort’s working name is West Valley Resort at Northern Avenue.
