The city and COC will join forces on a marketing blitz to attract tourists from Cambridge, Somerville and Boston this summer, reported The Daily News of Newburyport.
Mayor John Moak’s plans will include a shuttle service this summer that will take train riders from the Newburyport commuter rail station into downtown, the Tannery and Plum Island, as well as the hiring of ambassadors, teams of people to do light cleaning and planting downtown and assist visitors with questions. The one-year program will be funded from an economic development grant.
