Construction of the Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago was suspended, according to a press release from Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
“Under the current economic environment, regrettably, the implementation of the hotel project has been suspended with no indication of when activities will resume,” the company announced.
The hotel would have been the firm’s first in the U.S. Shangri-La’s first North American property opened Jan. 24 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
