Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced plans to open The St. Regis Kanai, Resort & Residences in Kanai, Mexico, a beachfront community on the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The property is expected to open in 2011. It would feature 124 guest rooms and suites, 32 villas, four restaurants, a signature Remede Spa, oceanfront swimming pools and two 18-hole signature golf courses.
The resort is expected to include 15,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 10,000-square-foot ballroom.
