A 1,016-room convention center hotel here could open as soon as late 2011 or early 2012, The Dallas Morning News reported.
The city council’s economic development committee is expected to recommend the sale of bonds that would fund the construction. The project is being slowed down as officials examine the reasons behind the hotel’s hefty price tag. The hotel is forecast to cost $346 million to build, and designed to include 83,000 square feet of meeting space.
