The Champaign County CVB is seeking a new executive director to succeed Scott Hockman, who resigned after three years as head of the agency, The News-Gazette reported.
Bill Ackermann, president of the bureau’s board of directors said that the CVB plans to recruit nationally for the position. He said he expected a new executive director will be chosen this summer.
Hockman cited four accomplishments during his tenure in a written statement: improved coordination with local hotels for meetings and convention business, the development of a strategic plan, the formation of new group tour itineraries and the creation of partnerships with a local arts organization and the Champaign County Sports Commission.
