Massachusetts
- The Copley Square Hotel in Boston hired Janice Tugaoen as director of sales. Tugaoen was most recently the assistant director of sales for the Seaport Hotel and Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. For three consecutive years, she developed business strategies to introduce the Seaport to new markets.
Ontario
- Rekha Khote was appointed general manager of The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. She brings more than 22 years of senior leadership experience within Starwood to her new position. Khote joined Starwood in 1994 as general manager of the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto International Airport and then became director of franchise operations, overseeing 33 franchise properties in Canada flying Westin, Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton banners. She also served as regional director of sales and marketing for Starwood in Canada and was previously general manager of the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
Washington, D.C.
- Elliott Ferguson was recently named president and CEO of Destination DC, the official convention and tourism corporation for Washington, D.C. Ferguson succeeded Bill Hanbury, who left Destination DC after eight years to run the United Way of the National Capital Area. Ferguson was previously senior vice president of convention sales and services for Destination DC. Before joining Destination DC, Ferguson led the convention sales teams for the Atlanta CVB and the Savannah CVB.
