Florida

  • The Seagate Hospitality Group appointed William J. Sander III general manager of The Seagate Hotel & Spa in Delray Beach, set to open in November. Sander is responsible for all operations, sales and marketing, and on-property management. Prior to joining The Seagate Hotel & Spa, Sander was general manager of the XV Beacon Hotel in Boston from 1999 through 2009. Previously, Sander served as director of room operations at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., and as director of food and beverage at the Boston Harbor Hotel, where he hosted and operated the Boston Wine Festival.

Georgia

  • The Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) in College Park named Christopher Sullivan sales manager. Sullivan will focus primarily on the corporate market segment. Sullivan comes to the GICC with over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as a sales executive with Delta Air Lines, where he worked on multiple Fortune 500 accounts. Sullivan began his extensive hospitality career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts in New Orleans.

Jamaica

  • Sunset Resorts appointed John Corry group sales manager. In his new position, Corry will be responsible for generating group sales for the company’s three Jamaican properties: Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa and Sunset at the Palms. Corry has more than four decades of experience in the travel industry in sales, marketing and group sales working with various resort brands throughout the Caribbean. He held several operations and sales positions prior to joining the Nassau/Paradise Island Promotion Board, where he served as regional sales manager in Canada and the U.S. for over 15 years. Most recently, Corry was responsible for Lady Sandals, a luxury yacht at Sandals Resorts before he started the group department at Unique Vacations.

Tennessee

  • The Chattanoogan promoted Lisa Crawford to the position of day meeting manager. Crawford previously held the position of day conference planner. In her new role, she is responsible for bringing day meetings, retreats, planning conferences and seminars to the property. She also manages all logistics for the meetings, serving as the primary contact for clients. Crawford has worked at The Chattanoogan for almost five years, serving in a number of different roles, including day conference planner, conference concierge and catering assistant.

Virginia

  • Alain Piraux was appointed director of food and beverage for the Hilton Tyson’s Corner in McLean. Piraux joins Hilton Tyson’s Corner with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He has held leadership roles in food and beverage operations in several venues both in the U.S. and internationally, working with numerous hotel brands, including Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Sofitel and Sheraton. His most recent positions were hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo and executive assistant manager, food and beverage at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.

West Virginia

  • Patricia Jenkins was recently named director of service quality and Jeff Kmiec vice president of sales and marketing for The Greenbrier. Jenkins’ primary focus at The Greenbrier, in White Sulphur Springs, is to lead the resort’s efforts to regain Mobil Five-Star status. She was previously employed by The Sea Island Company for five years in a similar capacity and has 20 years of hospitality management experience. Prior to joining the Sea Island Company, Jenkins served as the director of quality for The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, where she managed all aspects of quality and training development. Kmiec was most recently the resort director of sales and marketing for Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa. Kmiec has also served as vice president of sales and marketing for Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, in Farmington, Pa., as well as its parent company, 84 Lumber.
