A hotel development, dubbed “Hotel in the Garden,” will be built here next to the new Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place.
The hotel is scheduled to begin construction in 2011 and open in 2013. The nearby Direct Energy Centre and Allstream Centre combined is the largest exhibition and convention complex in Canada.
HK Hotels, which owns and operates four boutique hotels in New York, will build the 320-room hotel.
Key design elements include a LEED Silver rating goal, extensive landscaped areas and linkages to a renovated Stanley Barracks and the Direct Energy Centre and Allstream Centre.
