Destination Hotels & Resorts created a new green practices platform for all its group and meetings business.
Goals at Destination’s properties include reducing waste, conserving water and the better management of energy output, among other eco-friendly aims. Meeting planners who have worked with the company provided input as the company developed its green meetings platform.
Green elements include the addition of recycling stations and bins in meeting rooms, more local and seasonal items incorporated into menus and the donation and reuse of leftover conference supplies, in addition to many other initiatives. Planners also can choose to enhance their function by selecting even more sustainable options.
Destination operates properties in Aspen, Colo.; Denver; Houston; Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Palm Springs, Calif.; San Diego; Santa Fe, N.M., and Washington, D.C.
