Marriott and Renaissance resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico are offering meeting planners an array of incentives to make destination meetings more affordable.
The offer is dubbed “Meetings Matter More.” The meetings must consume 50 cumulative room nights or more be held by Dec. 31 or select dates in 2011.
Some features of the offer include 35 percent allowable attrition, one complimentary hotel room for every 35 paid rooms, a 10 percent rebate to the master on hotel rooms, double or triple Marriott Rewards points (conditions apply) and many other perks and discounts.
The Mexico resorts have the added incentive of a VAT tax rebate: 16 percent in Puerto Vallarta and 11 percent in Cancun.
