Makena Beach & Golf Resort was purchased by lender Wells Fargo Bank, which has been responsible for overseeing the resort since last September.
“We look forward to a long-term relationship with the new ownership,” said Kelly Lewis, general manager of Makena Beach & Golf Resort. “We are happy to continue what has proven to be a strong and productive partnership and are moving forward with the implementation of a variety of exciting new projects at this beautiful one-of-a-kind property.”
The resort's new initiatives include Zen-Zen Restaurant Pacifica, the Makena Ranch, the Makena Kai Day Spa and the Makena Luau. A new event space, The Makena Vista, is also planned.
Benchmark Hospitality International was appointed the management company for the resort last September.
