The Grand Rapids/Kent County CVB announced a new name for the 83-year-old organization: Experience Grand Rapids.
The new name and brand more accurately reflect the organization’s mission to market the region as the premier convention and visitor destination and significantly impact the local economy, the CVB said.
The development of the new brand is the result of a two-year process of analysis and research that engaged the organization’s leadership, staff and community members.
The name change also mirrors recent trends by other CVBs and destination marketing organizations that have made a similar switch, such as Visit Denver and Discover Kalamazoo.
As a part of the new Experience Grand Rapids brand, the organization also launched a new website: www.ExperienceGR.com. The site features a social lounge, a virtual community where people can connect with others who want to share their Grand Rapids experiences, recommendations and tips.
