The Tucson City Council unanimously rejected a proposal to build a publicly financed convention center hotel, according to a report in the Arizona Daily Star.
Plans call for a 525-room Sheraton hotel with an estimated construction cost of $190 million. Council members said they were opposed to providing city funding for bonds needed to construct the hotel.
