Gaylord Opryland Reopens

The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., reopened Nov. 15—195 days after floods last May forced the 2,881-room hotel to shut down and caused over $200 million in damage.

Repairs and renovations to the property included a redesign of the Cascades lobby and the creation of several new dining venues and bars. Back-of-the-house areas such as power systems and laundry areas were rebuilt using green technologies.

The 115 lower-level guest rooms in the Delta wing, which were affected by the flood, were completely renovated, while guest rooms in the Magnolia wing, which were not damaged, received new furnishings and carpeting.
