The board of directors of the San Francisco CVB voted to change the organization’s name to the San Francisco Travel Association, effective Jan. 11.
“Today, the word ‘bureau’ doesn’t adequately describe who we are. In fact, we are far from bureaucratic, said CVB’s President and CEO Joe D’Allesandro when making the announcement.
“The new name grew out of extensive research and evaluation of nationwide and industry trends and best practices, as well as surveys and focus groups,” he added.
[Along with the name change, the CVB is launching a redesigned website and a new logo with a grid of nine squares depicting the Golden Gate Bridge.
