ASAE has acquired Convene Green Alliance (CGA), a membership organization focused on green meeting practices, from IMN Solutions, an association and meetings management company.
Comprised of over 1,000 individual members representing several hundred associations and 40 corporate partner members, CGA sponsors programs that include “Focus Forum” events featuring green meetings leaders who share ideas and success stories.
CGA, which was founded by IMN in 2008, also offers best practices and resources for green meetings on its website, www.convenegreen.com.
According to an ASAE spokesman, the organization plans to develop specific initiatives based on its assessment of CGA programs and resources.
“We believe that ASAE has a powerful brand in the meetings industry and the resources to make CGA even stronger by expanding CGA’s ‘go green’ mission to its members,” said Jack Sammis, president and CEO of IMN Solutions.
