Hotelier Ian Schrager announced plans for a new hotel company, Schrager Hotels, which will include two brands, one involving large-scale urban hotels and the other “luxury lifestyle” properties.
The first hotel operated by the new company will be Chicago’s iconic Ambassador East, which is currently undergoing a $25 million renovation and is expected to open under its new management in September 2011.
