The Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis celebrated the grand opening of a $275 million expansion that takes it from the 32nd largest to the 16th largest convention center in the U.S.
The expanded facility now offers 566,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, plus 83 meeting and ballroom spaces. When combined with the attached Lucas Oil Stadium, the facilities offer 749,100 square feet of exhibit space.
According to a spokesman from the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association, the expansion has already enabled the city to retain and book conventions representing an impact of $1.3 billion.
