Honolulu room rates rose by 20 percent this month over January 2010 for customers booking hotels with Hotwire, topping all the destinations served by the Internet travel agency.
Attributing the activity to leisure, business and group event sources, Hotwire reported that other destinations showing especially strong January increases include Miami, Providence, R.I., Montreal and Toronto.
