Hilton hotels in Chicago, Hawaii and San Francisco have reached tentative contract agreements with the hotel employees’ union Unite Here, ending labor disputes that have stretched out for over 18 months.
In San Francisco, representatives from the Hilton San Francisco at Union Square and Unite Here Local 2, which represents 850 workers at the hotel, announced at a press conference that contract provisions have been agreed on, including such issues as out-of-pocket health insurance costs.
Similar agreements were announced in Honolulu, involving 1,500 workers at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, where a five-day strike took place in October, and in Chicago, involving 1,600 hourly workers at the Drake, Hilton O’Hare and Palmer House Hilton hotels.
