The Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority unveiled a three-year, $221 million plan for the renovation of the Cobo Convention & Exhibition Center.
The plan includes the conversion of Cobo Arena into a 40,000-square-foot ballroom with prefunction areas offering river views, the reconfiguration of the meeting rooms and substantial cosmetic, environmental and technological improvements. Work is expected to be completed in 2014.
