Starwood Hotels reached a tentative agreement, which is expected to be ratified by hotel workers, with the Unite Here hotel workers union in San Francisco and Chicago.
In Chicago, Starwood and Unite Here Local 1reached a tentative agreement after 20 months of bargaining that resulted in new contracts affecting about 1,200 workers at the Sheraton Hotel, Westin Michigan Avenue, Westin River North, W Lakeshore, W City Center and Tremont.
In San Francisco, contract agreements were reached between Unite Here Local 2 and Starwood properties that include the Westin St. Francis, St. Regis and Sheraton Palace. Negotiations are still underway between the union and the W Hotel.
In both cases, the new contracts include increased wages while preserving health and pension benefits.
