While scores of Alabama tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants lost power during the 23 tornadoes that ravaged the northern half of the state on April 27, most reopened within a week, with many providing food and shelter to storm victims, according to a report from the Alabama Tourism Department.
Major event sites in the region survived the storms, including Bryant Denny Stadium on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, where most large events in the city are held. Most hotels and tourist attractions in North Alabama are open for business.
