Memphis hotels, meeting venues and tourist attractions, including Graceland and Beale Street, were not affected by the crested waters of the Mississippi and remain open for business, according to a statement from the Memphis CVB.
No meetings in Memphis were cancelled as a result of flooding, officials said, pointing to the fact that downtown Memphis is on a bluff 30 feet higher than the river when it crested at 48 feet. Also unaffected are Memphis International Airport and major highways into the city.
